Here is how we made custom ear muffs for my old horse "Drummer" out of a pair of heavy socks and sewed them to the ear holes on his hood. We have a cover that is fine most years but since it is so cold this year, I thought he needed a little extra protection. I also wrapped his legs sinceit is so cold he isn't moving around much. The lack of movement results in lack of blood flow to the legs. The wraps should help hold the body heat and keep him from stocking up or swelling from lack of blood flow.
